I'm Adam Birds, a software developer, platform engineer, and founder based in Manchester.

I focus on building modern, scalable web applications and the infrastructure underneath them, typically working with Python and TypeScript across frameworks like Django, FastAPI, React, and Next.js, provisioned and deployed using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.

With years of experience in technology, I've worked across the full stack and the platform underneath it, from architecting robust backend systems and self-managed infrastructure to designing intuitive, responsive user interfaces. I'm passionate about clean, maintainable code and reliable, well-run systems, and about building products that make a real impact.

I founded and led technical development of FlipLytics, a SaaS analytics platform for eBay sellers, taking it from initial concept through to a stable production system used by real, paying customers, owning everything from architecture and billing to infrastructure and security. Alongside that, I run ADB Software Solutions, where my flagship project is Vanderheim, a full-stack community platform I built for a Twitch streamer, now used by an 800+ member community.

Outside of tech, I'm a dedicated pizza enthusiast with a Gozney oven, constantly experimenting with dough hydration levels, fermentation times, and the perfect Neapolitan-style bake. It's a hobby that, like coding, rewards patience, precision, and creativity.

Whether you're looking to collaborate, hire a developer, or just talk shop (or pizza), I'd love to hear from you.
